Auschwitz in 2010 opened to adults! January 27, 2010

In un’ottica di apertura del Liceo al territorio e di creazione di un rapporto di interazione culturale e civile, di confronto e di arricchimento reciproco, in collaborazione con la Associazione “Esodo” per l’anno scolastico 2010/2011 il progetto "Auschwitz fra storia e memoria" viene esteso anche ai genitori degli alunni di tutte le classi e indirizzi.

Per gli adulti il progetto prevede la seguente scansione:

- Tre incontri preparatori (Introduzione storica; Introduzione filosofica; Incontro con un testimone e preparazione al viaggio);
- Viaggio ad Auschwitz – Birkenau (9-13 Novembre 2010), in contemporanea con il viaggio degli alunni e secondo il programma allegato;
- Attività volontarie di rielaborazione dell’esperienza da presentare il Giorno della Memoria 2011.

I genitori interessati in participating can send to the Secretary's office (Mrs. Ellis) the application form attached to this notice by October 2, 2010.

Important: The trip will be made at least 40 people since this allows you to organize a bus specifically for adults.

Once the minimum number of participants for making the trip will be provided all information necessary for participation in preparatory activities and for payment of the fee.

PROGRAM AND ISSUES TECHNICAL trip to Auschwitz - Birkenau

Duration: 5 days 4 nights (Tuesday 9 to Saturday, November 13, 2010).
Transport: Bus.
Accommodation: double or triple rooms in a hotel with half board.

Tuesday, 09/11/2010: Check out h. Schools from 5:15 Mirano. Packed lunch en route. Late afternoon arrival in Olomouc and hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight.
Wednesday, 10/11/2010: Departure and arrival from Olomouc to Krakow in the late morning. View of the Ghetto Heroes' Square. Picnic lunch and afternoon visit the city (Indicative Route: Centro Storico e Mercato Centrale; Quartiere Ebraico). Pranzo al sacco e nel pomeriggio visita della città e dell’antico quartiere ebraico. Sistemazione in hotel, cena e pernottamento.
Giovedì 11/11/2010 : Visita ad Auschwitz-Birkenau (tutta la giornata). Rientro in hotel, cena e pernottamento.
Venerdì 12/11/2010 : Nella mattina visita libera di Cracovia, (possibilità di visita guidata facoltativa con percorso indicativo: Colle del Wawel e Cattedrale) e pranzo al sacco. Nel primo pomeriggio partenza per Brno, sistemazione in hotel, cena e pernottamento.
Sabato 13/11/2010: Partenza da Brno ed arrivo previsto in serata per le ore 20.00 circa

TO PAY COSTS OF PARTICIPANTS IN THE PROJECT
a fee is Euro 280.00 to be paid within approximately 15 days from the start in such manner as will be shown later;
2 Cost for guide in Auschwitz Birkenau (for all);
3 Costs for guides in Krakow and the entrance to the Wawel Cathedral, to be paid on site (optional);
4 possible single room supplement.
